Meeting your new girlfriend's parents is never comfortable, but in Darling Darling, the event goes to unexpected levels of surreality.

Harold (Michael Cera of Arrested Development) is faced with the daunting task of picking up his date for the big high school dance. Amidst the rubble and decay of modern American suburbia, Harold must do his best to make a good first impression on his date's father, the eccentric Mr. Darling, amidst a series of somewhat unforeseen events.

Michael Cera brings his disarmingly sweet awkwardness and hilariously flustered mumblings to the role of a polite "everyteen" to this "hilarious and super-stylish picture*." From the first clumsy greetings to the pinning of the corsage, each moment of this embarrassing ordeal is imbued with inexplicable eccentricity.

Matthew Lessner grew up in the rural American small town of Roseburg, Oregon. Abandoned as a child, his formative years were primarily spent hunting and foraging wild nuts and berries in the forests of the Pacific Northwest. In early 2005 Matthew emerged from the woods with plans to make a film, Darling Darling, which was to be his first major short film. Darling Darling has since screened at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International
Film Festival and won Lessner the "Tom Berman Most Promising Filmmaker Award" at the historic Ann Arbor Film Festival. Matthew is currently at work on several new projects, including two additional shorts and a feature length documentary tentatively titled "Zea Mays."

Festival List includes : Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Canadian Film Centre's Worldwide Short Film Festival, Future Shorts France, Just for Laughs- Comedia Film Festival, Palm Springs International Short Film Festival and Chlotrudis Short Film Festival.
